MSF AGM and Election of New Executive & Chair

The Muslim Safety Forum (MSF) held its Annual General Meeting on the 6th June and elected a new Executive body for the coming year. Professor Dawud Noibi conducted the proceedings of the election as the Election Commissioner.

The results are as follows: 

Chair:                        Mujib Miah (Muslim Welfare House)

Vice Chair:                Muhammad Martin Foulds (Al Muntada al-Islami)

Secretary:                 Muhammad Abul Kalam (Young Muslim Organisation UK)

Treasurer:                Naeem Darr (Muslim Directory)

Public Relations:        Azad Ali (Islamic Forum Europe)

Assistant Secretary:  Jahanara Khanom (Women’s Relief)

Assistant Treasurer:  Samia Nasher (Amal Trust)

Assistant Public Relations Abdurahman Jafar (Islamic Society of Britain)

“The MSF has grown from strength to strength over the last few years and is proving to be an important bridge between the community and the Police Service. I am confident that the election of a new executive body, that includes a diverse make up, will consolidate on the progress achieved so far” said Mujib Miah, the new Chair.

He further added, “the task ahead is one of vital importance and we the Muslim community are very much ready to work closely with the police to bring about safety and security for all our citizens. I look forward to more co-operation between the community and the police.”

The MSF is the key advisory body for the Police Service and has signed a working protocol with the Metropolitan Police & ACPO to build better police / community relations. It has been advising the police on matters of safety and security from the Muslim perspective for over five years now. It meets on a monthly basis with senior representatives of ACPO and the MPS, the MPA, Home Office, CPS and the IPCC amongst others.
